Arkansas wins at the “Tad Pad” for just the third time in sixteen years, as the Razorbacks knock off the Ole Miss Rebels 80-73.

Ole Miss led by five at the intermission, but the Rebels were outscored 46-34 in the second half. Ole Miss had no answer for Arkansas’ frontcourt duo of Marshawn Powell and Mike Washington. Powell scored 19 points while Washington had a game high 22 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for a double-double.

Ole Miss was led by Murphy Holloway who had a team high 19 points and 17 rebounds.

The Rebels couldn’t slow down Arkansas in the paint. DeAundre Cranston fouled out in just thirteen minutes, forcing the Rebels to go with a much smaller lineup. Ole Miss started the game without 6’8” freshman forward Reginald Buckner. Buckner was averaging 18 minutes a game, but sat out due to an ankle injury.

Ole Miss tried to counter their lack of frontcourt depth with outside shooting but it didn’t work. The Rebels shot just 27% from long distance. Arkansas was also able to take advantage from the foul line. The Razorbacks not only attempted 14 more foul shots but also made 14 more free throws.

The Rebels top two leading scorers, Chris Warren (16 ppg) and Terrico White (15 ppg), struggled from the floor. Warren was 6 for 15 and White was 3 for 14.

Warren finished with 17 points and Enile Polynice chipped in with 15.

Rotnei Clarke added 18 points for Arkansas includiding a 4 three pointers.

Ole Miss falls to 16-5 and 4-3 in the SEC, while Arkansas improves to 10-11 and 3-3 in league play.

Ole Miss will have little time to get ready for Tuesday’s matchup with Kentucky in Lexington. Arkansas will finish up their three game road trip on Wednesday in Athens to take on Georgia.
